Kat Kon was born in Athens, Greece and moved to England when she was 19. As a child she was deeply fascinated by the power that images can have on everything. She hated talking, preferring to draw on her desk at school, letting her fanciful imagination take her to vintage film sets and full-colour storylines she’d be part of.
She studied Modern Drama at Brunel University and then Art and Design at Kingston University before recently completing an MA in Fine Art at Middlesex University.
Kat Kon’s inspiration comes mostly from pop/teen/outsider culture. Her practice comprises illustration, painting and installation, all combined to create a rich body of work where many references are closely intertwined with personal experience.
Her work was published at Comix Reader newspaper and she has also designed an album cover for musician Femmepop.
